Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, producibility, cost, safety, design allowable and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Utilizes and validates 3-D and digital modeling to communicate and support production. Tools utilized such as CATIA, IDEAS, Siemens PLM Software NX, ProEngineer and a variety of analytical software applications. We are looking for a candidate with experience predicting the mechanical behavior of structures using finite element analysis for static and dynamic environments, performing vibration and shock environmental testing and the subsequent model correlation, and developing tests to characterize the behavior of structural components is desired. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary engineering team contributing to the development of operational prototype hardware, spanning the full program life cycle from concept development to fielding and test. Candidate should have ability to perform hand calculations and simplified models in conjunction with utilization of CAD and finite element analysis software, such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, SOLIDWORKS, and ANSYS. Successful candidate will start 100% onsite until team is comfortable with on-boarding status. After ~6-9 months, working 1-2 days/week remotely could be an option.
