Contract - 12 Months (Possibilities of Contract Extension

The Piping Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the piping discipline, ensuring compliance with specifications, schedules, and budgets while promoting a culture of safety. Additional Information: • Work includes field inspections requiring physical ability to conduct inspections in high heat and humidity, climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working in confined spaces. • Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide ES&H leadership to personnel assigned to the piping department, including preparation and implementation of safety procedures and leading safety meetings.
  • Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor.
  • Champion the cause of ZERO Accident Philosophy and ensure compliance with safety codes and standards.
  • Monitor craft activities for compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Manage cost, schedule, and optimization of craft labor, maintaining 90-day and four-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
  • Review craft time records using established automated tools.
  • Approve subcontractor equipment/personnel mobilization and demobilization.
  • Implement corporate project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
  • Coordinate with the General Foreman to hire piping craft labor.
  • Provide input to quantity tracking applications and report weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
  • Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables and coordinate procurement.
  • Assist in performing construction testing as required.
  • Prepare reports and forecasts on construction progress, craft personnel, and expenditures.
  • Plan manpower and equipment required for job execution.
  • Conduct employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel.
  • Perform other duties as required by Client management.

Skills:

  • Ability to motivate and lead team members effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generation construction.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Experience developing pneumatic and hydrotest packages and verifying acceptance of tests.
  • Familiarity with LNG construction sites, especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
  • Understanding of Client work processes and advanced knowledge of Project Client Standard Applications (BSAPs).
  • Experience managing technical services subcontracts.

Education/Experience:

  • University/B.S degree in Engineering or Construction Management plus 5-8 years of experience, or 9-12 years of equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree.
