Contract - 12 Months (Possibility of Contract Extension)

Seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to integrate environmental requirements into project planning and execution at a major construction site in Brownsville, TX. The advisor will manage compliance, permitting, and environmental systems for client projects and support technical coordination among engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental compliance inspections of construction activities.
  • Review and maintain client and owner permitting requirements for RGLNG.
  • Manage the Project Environmental Management System (EMS) including incident investigations, risk registers, compliance registers, annual reviews, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Provide technical support for feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate environmental considerations across project teams when assigned as Project Environmental Lead (PEL).
  • Provide environmental technical support to RGLNG projects and liaise with stakeholders across project functions.
  • Participate in meetings to advise on environmental requirements that impact project design, schedule, and cost.
  • Draft and maintain Environmental Compliance Plans, CECP, mitigation plans, awareness training, technical reports, and dashboards.
  • Recommend revisions to ES procedures, work processes, and quality improvements.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge in environmental science or engineering.
  • Understanding of environmental systems, laws, and permitting processes (Federal and Texas State).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and construction best practices.
  • Experience managing environmental subcontractors or consultants.
  • Skilled in monitoring, compliance inspection, hazardous materials handling, erosion/sediment control, and restoration techniques.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Spanish/English bilingual communication preferred.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in environmental management, life sciences (e.g., biology, ecology, forestry), physical sciences (e.g., geology, meteorology), or environmental engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant construction experience.
  • Prior work experience in both office and field environments managing environmental programs and compliance activities.
