The Operations Superintendent will oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable operations of a new LNG export facility in Brownsville, TX. The role involves leading on-shift operational activities, ensuring team readiness, and maintaining strict safety and environmental standards. Deep knowledge of APCI liquefaction technology is essential, with key involvement in commissioning and initial startup.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the operations team, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable LNG facility operation per procedures and regulations.
- Ensure completion of training and assessment for Operations Shift Teams.
- Take accountability for operational activities during startup and operation phases, including liquefaction, pre-treatment, utilities, storage, and loading.
- Act as the primary on-site operational decision-maker and resolve operational issues and emergencies.
- Coordinate with CSU, Construction, Maintenance, Engineering, Automation, and other departments for smooth operations and commissioning.
- Oversee monitoring and control of plant processes via control systems and field equipment.
- Manage and prioritize operations team workload and staffing.
- Ensure accurate completion of operational logs, shift reports, and testing procedures.
- Participate in commissioning/startup activities and ensure operational readiness.
- Champion process safety and manages Permit to Work system.
- Mentor and train the operations team for technical growth and competency.
- Analyze operational data and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage chemical inventories and coordinate vendor activities on-site.

Education/Experience:

- Experience in supervisory roles within LNG facilities.
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Formal training in incident command and emergency response (preferred).
- Experience in commissioning and startup of LNG plants (preferred).
