Location (mandatory): Houston Texas 77029 The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating two production lines in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality products. Key duties include performing quality checks, operating machinery such as palletizers, shingle and stretch wrappers, and banding equipment, handling inventory, managing scrap, and assisting with preventive maintenance. The role ensures compliance with plant safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards, participates in TPM and continuous improvement initiatives, and supports overall team productivity. Operators also monitor equipment, respond to alarms, assist with product changes, and collaborate with team members to maintain smooth production operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take personal ownership to work safely and hold other team members to the same high standards of safety.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on-the-job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seem.
  • Participates in the safety, quality, autonomous maintenance, TPM and housekeeping programs as established within the plant; including but not limited to Focused Improvement Events, Safety Committee, Training, etc.
  • Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
  • Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations.
  • Performs cleanup duties at workstations and/or equipment/machinery.
  • Communicates safety concerns and/or equipment problems/abnormalities to appropriate personnel, maintaining strong communication with the appropriate line section operators to ensure immediate action is taken for product out of spec.
  • Inspect vehicles before use and throughout shift, keeping all equipment clean and operational.

Skills:

  • Operate palletizers, stretch wrappers, banding, and other machinery safely.
  • Perform quality checks ensuring products meet all specifications.
  • Follow safety, environmental, and housekeeping regulations consistently.
  • Handle inventory, scrap, and maintain accurate production records.
  • Work collaboratively in fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior manufacturing or production line experience preferred.
  • Forklift and powered industrial vehicle operation experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and flexible schedules.
