Location (mandatory): El Segundo CA The Senior Forecasting Analyst will lead the day to day planning and execution of the business in partnership with sales and our internal teams. This role spans all aspects of pre-season POS planning, internal shipment projections, order writing/analysis, through to order fulfillment. This role is instrumental in supporting the sales team and driving the business with our retail partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • • Determine appropriate model for evaluating item level forecasts and analysis, considering information such as total end consumer consumption forecasts, brand/product history, history of similar comparable brands/products, inventory levels and marketing programs.
  • • Create product flow pattern based on criteria such as seasonality profiles, planned promotions, distribution and price point.
  • • Actively lead and participate alongside Mattel sales team in key CPFR forecasting meetings with the retailer. Present business findings and recommend action plan for the season or year. Assist in managing and prioritizing follow-ups from meetings.
  • • Daily/Weekly involvement with the sales team coupled with retail analysts/buying team, joint business planning related to in season execution for promotional planning and fulfillment, domestic and import order reviews and chase/cancel with retailer.
  • • Attend internal consensus meetings to present and share understanding of POS demand forecasts, provide key data findings to cross-functional S&OP teams to reach a consensus forecast on a month to month basis
  • • PO order recommendations for current and future looking domestic and direct import.
  • • Liaison between customer service and supply planning and allocations teams to maximize PO fill rates
  • • Reporting as requested to support the sales team / customer and other business needs.

Skills:

  • • Proven analytical capability and attention to detail in identifying demand trends, seasonality, promotional impact and other demand factors.
  • • Extensive experience in analyzing large data sets, blending data from a variety of sources, conducting own analysis and compiling into an effective actionable summarized report to facilitate decision making & strategic planning.
  • • Knowledge of demand forecasting tools and cross functional forecasting processes (JDA, SAP, Demantra, Anaplan etc.)
  • • Solid interpersonal and communication skills – ability to communicate effectively across all organization levels and all functional areas, ability to understand, assess and present viewpoints of others.
  • • Sound business judgment – ability to interpret issues and recommend actions to best support Mattel and retailer goals.
  • • Power user in MS Excel required. Tableau experience a plus.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (Mathematics, Finance, Data Analytics or other relevant fields)
  • • Years of related professional experience: 3-4 years in retailer facing role, inventory management or demand planning preferred (CPG experience a plus)
