We are looking for an experienced Telecom Expense Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our telecom expense management systems and processes are optimized for maximum cost savings across a diverse portfolio of telecom service providers. The ideal candidate for this role has a proven track record of successful telecom expense management in a high-volume, high-stakes environment. You must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and have a passion for developing and refining best practices for telecom expense management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Manager to provide account and invoice information; Purchase Order Spend for budget tracking purposes analysis /and reporting.
  • Perform special requests for inventory and billing management as required.
  • Ensure that payment remit information is reflected in internal systems to ensure receipt of payments.
  • Provide information, support, and assistance to carriers as a business partner. Review monthly carrier Accounts Receivable reports.
  • Field questions/inquiries from multiple vendors related to payment issues/matters
  • Contest inaccurate charges invoiced by submitting a billing inquiry or dispute with providers and ensure resolution
  • Liaise with numerous internal areas as well as external: Internal Accounts Payable, Finance, and Tax; External telecom and network suppliers, TEM Provider
  • Perform in-depth audits and reconciliation of telecom and data networking service orders and change activity, against vendor records, billing and corporate-wide financial objectives
  • File carrier disputes when warranted
  • Forensic analysis of telecom invoices inclusive of receiving, reviewing, approving, auditing, optimizing, processing, validating payment, etc

Skills:

  • Knowledge of vendor internal processes (AT&T, Verizon, Zayo, Lumen, others) both US and OUS
  • General knowledge of and understanding of pricing and benchmarking of telecom services
  • Strong Excel skills (will need to know pivot tables, lookups for analysis and comparisons of up to 40,000 lines of data)
  • Finance and/or accounting experience
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Comfortable using SAP, SharePoint, TEM Systems and Vendor Portals

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years in telecommunications and/or in the Telecom Management (TEM) and/or Managed Mobility Services (MMS) industries (depending upon MSS level at time of hire)
  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant, equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirement
  • Ability to leverage automation for efficiency and added benefit
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills are required. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to identify and coordinate issue resolution utilizing standard procedures/processes/tools
  • Strong customer service orientation
