Location: Braintree, MA, 02184 Cleanroom experience required This role works with Cow Skin - worker must be ok dealing with this type of product. Proficient working with computers. Interviews occuring June 1st and June 2nd - on -site

Job Responsibilities:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The Machinist will be responsible for operating various pieces of computer-controlled equipment including swiss lathes, automated parts washer, grinders, honing, centerless grinder, and supporting tools and measurement equipment to machine various components to established specifications and requirements.
  • Complete tasks including dimensional and visual inspections per print specifications including First Article inspections.
  • Perform operations as described by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) demonstrating consistently effective job performance encompassing good quality, productivity, and dependability.
  • Accurately record and enter required information and data into manufacturing documentation and into manufacturing computers including quality inspection data and individual training records.
  • Ensure personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance, as well as ISO and FDA compliance.
  • Complete all applicable training requirements.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge in working with Citizen Lathes, Haas Grinders, Sunnen Hone, Centerless Grinders, and Fanuc Robotics is preferred. Knowledge and experience working with computer-controlled equipment is preferred.
  • Precision machining experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with the inspection and functional testing of manufactured components is preferred.
  • Experience working in medical products. Manufacturing / machining is preferred. Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or another regulated environment is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical and computer skills are required.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • The ability to operate and perform basic troubleshooting on various types of machine equipment is preferred.
  • The ability to perform and record measurements using dial indicators, depth micrometers, verniers, shadowgraph, and gauges is preferred.
  • The ability to communicate effectively (read, write and speak) in English is required.
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentages and work with decimals is required.
  • The ability to stand and/or walk more than 80% of the time is required.
  • The ability to lift to 25 pounds and to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to work in a manufacturing/machine shop environment.
  • The employee may be required to periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently.

  • OK working with Cow Hide – Biological Material.

Education/Experience:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. is required.  
  • A minimum of 0-3 years of experience in Production, Operations, Manufacturing, and/or related discipline is required.
