Responsible for complex, high-speed digital design and FPGA implementation within operational hardware environments. Develops and tests supporting hardware including power distribution, digital control systems, and printed circuit boards (PCBs). Builds and refines prototypes, diagnoses and resolves hardware defects, oversees system integration, and maintains comprehensive design documentation. Evaluates and improves digital and physical system performance through analysis, testing, and iterative design enhancements. The group provides support to the Department of Defense (DoD) in the design and development of testbed systems and components that facilitate data collection for ballistic missile defense testing. Activities include system concept development for RF and optical systems, modeling and simulation, signal processing algorithm design, RF and optical system development, experimental field testing, data analysis, and creation of operational and experimental test assets. The team possesses expertise in adaptive sensor array processing for radar and communications, advanced real-time software methodologies, signal detection and estimation, communications systems, and systems analysis.
