Location : Richland, WA 99354 The Construction Manager will lead construction activities for nuclear power projects, ensuring project scope is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established quality requirements. The role will manage construction teams and large-scale contractors while coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Radiation Protection, suppliers, and other station personnel. The position requires strong experience in nuclear construction, project execution, cost and schedule management, and work performed in radiological environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction teams to ensure project activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and at required quality levels
  • Lead and coordinate large-scale external contractors and construction personnel
  • Interface directly with General Superintendents, Supervisors, General Foremen, and Foremen to support successful project execution
  • Coordinate construction activities with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Design, Design Authority, Radiation Protection, Health Physics, and other station organizations
  • Support capital project execution from conceptual design through construction, testing, turnover, and completion
  • Review project requirements and provide construction input during project planning and design phases
  • Monitor project cost, schedule, safety, quality, technical, and dose performance against established baselines
  • Analyze construction performance and identify risks, issues, and potential impacts to project objectives
  • Develop alternative action strategies to support early achievement of project milestones
  • Perform risk analysis and establish priorities and corrective actions for construction-related issues
  • Balance and prioritize construction resources to support successful project execution
  • Ensure construction teams have the resources and capabilities required to execute assigned scope safely and efficiently
  • Manage manpower requirements and communicate resource needs to project leadership
  • Review project-level performance reports and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Monitor and analyze construction safety, cost, schedule, and quality performance
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked to completion
  • Hold construction team members and contractors accountable for compliance with policies, procedures, and project requirements
  • Participate in project status presentations and communicate complex technical, organizational, and financial information
  • Attend scheduled and unscheduled project meetings and provide construction status updates
  • Identify, address, and resolve complex construction and project execution issues
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout project execution
  • Support testing and system turnover activities to ensure projects are delivered to the station as scheduled
  • Manage construction activities in accordance with applicable nuclear industry requirements and site procedures
  • Support planned outage activities, including potential back-shift or night-shift assignments
  • Work effectively in active heavy-industrial and nuclear power plant environments, including office and field settings
  • Perform additional construction management and project execution duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
