Location : Richland, WA 99354 The Senior Implementation Manager will provide technical expertise, project support, oversight, and governance for Mechanical Enterprise Risk Projects within a commercial nuclear power plant environment. The role will work closely with Project Managers, management, vendors, and field personnel to validate project readiness, improve execution strategies, reduce project risks, optimize schedules and resources, and ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective project delivery. The position requires extensive nuclear power plant and refueling outage experience, strong knowledge of maintenance and engineering processes, applicable codes and standards, work management practices, project schedules, risk management, and field execution. The Senior Implementation Manager will serve as a technical authority and provide candid guidance throughout project planning, implementation, testing, commissioning, and field execution.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Provide technical and implementation support for Mechanical Enterprise Risk Projects
  •  Provide technical expertise, oversight, and governance to support successful project execution
  •  Review project documentation to identify opportunities to improve schedule performance, quality, resource utilization, and execution strategies
  •  Review project schedules, including work management schedules and project lifecycle schedules
  •  Evaluate implementation means and methods developed by internal teams and vendors
  •  Review project risk registers and identify strategies to mitigate or eliminate execution risks
  •  Review work orders and associated documentation, including weld records, ASME Section XI repair and replacement plans, field sketches, and related technical documentation
  •  Review Quality Control inspection requirements and hold points
  •  Review testing, commissioning, and acceptance plans for completeness and effectiveness
  •  Review clearance orders and system turnover strategies
  •  Evaluate materials, tools, specialty tooling, and resource requirements
  •  Review resource load boards and mobilization/demobilization strategies
  •  Review project budgets and estimates, including assumptions, constraints, unit rates, wage rates, and other cost factors
  •  Review radiological strategies and evaluate the balance between contamination controls and work execution requirements
  •  Review decontamination strategies and provide technical input regarding radiological work considerations
  •  Review rigging and material handling plans for project activities
  •  Validate the quality of Work Order Tasks prior to field execution in accordance with established work management processes
  •  Identify and remediate Work Order Tasks containing incorrect references, inadequate instructions, error traps, or other quality issues
  •  Review and provide technical comments and improvements to testing and acceptance plans
  •  Support factory, shop, site, mock-up, post-modification, and other testing activities
  •  Identify project activities and processes that would benefit from mock-up development
  •  Provide technical guidance to ensure mock-ups are effective and representative of field execution
  •  Communicate applicable personal Operating Experience and identify relevant industry and similar Operating Experience
  •  Develop response strategies based on applicable Operating Experience examples
  •  Serve as the ASME Person In Charge for Section XI Repair and Replacement Plan work scope as required
  •  Maintain current knowledge of applicable codes, standards, technologies, technical skills, and industry practices
  •  Maintain knowledge of welding, rigging, soldering, material handling, and other technical disciplines applicable to project execution
  •  Evaluate implementation strategies, crew placement, turnover processes, and other field execution methods
  •  Monitor industry trends and identify innovative technologies and execution strategies applicable to Enterprise Risk Projects
  •  Provide timely and candid feedback to Project Managers, Oversight Managers, and department management
  •  Review project strategies, implementation plans, readiness plans, and other execution documentation
  •  Provide oversight of shop and field activities as required
  •  Monitor field execution against approved project strategies and provide coaching to prevent unnecessary deviations from the plan
  •  Serve as the designated person in charge of project activities on the shift opposite the Project Manager when required
  •  Provide oversight and direction for large field crews, potentially exceeding 50 personnel
  •  Coordinate resources and collaborate with vendor personnel to identify and remove project roadblocks
  •  Support project teams in resolving complex technical, schedule, quality, resource, and execution issues
  •  Attend key project strategy and execution meetings in person as required
  •  Participate in Design Review Boards, Steering Committees, Integrated Implementation Briefings, High Risk Work Plan Challenge Meetings, and Project Readiness/Challenge Meetings
  •  Participate in Schedule Development Meetings, Risk Management Meetings, and other project meetings as assigned
  •  Support project activities during planned refueling outages and other critical execution periods
  •  Identify opportunities to reduce outage duration, improve critical path performance, and minimize project execution risks
  •  Support strategies intended to improve project schedules, reduce costs, and prevent risks from impacting outage or project milestones
  •  Ensure project execution strategies align with applicable nuclear industry requirements, procedures, and standards
  •  Perform additional technical, implementation, oversight, and project support responsibilities as assigned

Education/Experience:

  •  Advanced (graduate) degree in a related field of study or business.
  •  Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or business.
  •  Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
  •  High School Diploma or GED.
