Location - Remote – Canada. Client is seeking a Senior HR Specialist (Bilingual) to support HR compliance and employee relations across Canada. This role is primarily focused on compliance (80%), with additional responsibilities in HR policy development and employee relations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational skills, bilingual in English and French, and experienced in navigating multi-jurisdictional HR regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in compliance with Canadian federal and provincial laws (English & French).
  • Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Support and manage compliance programs including:
  • Pay Equity (Quebec, Ontario, BC)
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • Federal Contractor Program
  • Francisation Program (Quebec)
  • Conduct investigations, performance improvement planning, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Payroll, Legal, and US-based HRBPs.
  • Utilize Workday for HRIS and documentation processes.
  • Assist with HR support during mergers and acquisitions in Canada.
  • Top Priorities:
  • Review and update HR policies and processes.
  •  Provide support for employee relations and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

Education/Experience:

  • 5–7+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a compliance-heavy role.
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and verbal).

  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (required for potential conversion).
  • HR certification (CPHR/ORHRI) is a plus but not required
