Location : Fort Worth, Texas The Principal Product Designer will be part of the Digital Customer Experience team. This role focuses on designing innovative, user-centered solutions that impact both customer and employee-facing applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, influence product decisions, and work within an agile environment to deliver high-quality designs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead Design Vision: Set a creative vision that simplifies and enhances travel experiences for customers and employees. Influence leadership on design strategies and scalable solutions across the company.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design Systems teams to define and implement design standards and governance that increase efficiency and consistency across platforms.
  • Mentorship: Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to designers of various experience levels, helping them create data-driven and customer-centric designs.
  • Design Strategy & Ideation: Lead ideation, design strategy, and concept exploration activities. Develop innovative design solutions that align with business goals and user needs.
  • Design Process Management: Streamline design processes at scale, leading design reviews, office hours, and maintaining regular meetings to ensure design quality across multiple teams.
  • Champion Accessibility: Advocate for inclusive design practices, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.0+ AA).
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present design concepts clearly to stakeholders, using storytelling and presentation skills to gain buy-in and consensus on design decisions.
  • Tool Management: Oversee the management of design tools and vendor relationships. Advocate for the necessary resources and funding to keep the design team equipped with the best tools available.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in design and technology, including emerging areas like generative AI and spatial computing, to drive innovation.

Skills:

  • Design Tools: Expert in using modern design and prototyping tools, primarily Figma (Adobe CC is a plus).
  • Front-End Knowledge: Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for collaborating with development teams and creating feasible designs.
  • Accessibility: Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.0+ AA compliance, accessibility standards, and inclusive design.
  • Research & Testing: Skilled in using both moderated and unmoderated testing tools for qualitative and quantitative research. Ability to formulate research strategies and analyze data to optimize design decisions.
  • Enterprise Design Systems: Experience working with and contributing to enterprise-level design systems to standardize design processes and maintain consistency.
  • Responsive Design: Expertise in designing responsive and adaptive solutions across mobile (iOS, Android), desktop, and web applications.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to organize, label, and classify design components, creating clear wireframes and flows for complex applications.
  • Storytelling & Presentation: Excellent skills in presenting and explaining design concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management Tools: Proficiency in tools like Rally, Jira, and Aha! for managing multiple projects and tracking progress.
