Location (mandatory): El Segundo CA USA 90245 Seeking a professional and detail-oriented Global Licensing Manager to support in-licensing programs across multiple categories. This individual will manage relationships with external partners, negotiate licensing agreements, and ensure brand integrity and alignment across product lines and markets. This is a critical role that works cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, Legal, Royalty Accounting, Consumer Products, Film, TV, and Sales to drive company growth within toys and support other lines of business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison for licensors and licensing agents, managing relationships, and identifying potential licensing opportunities aligned with brand strategy and objectives.
  • Serve as the central point of contact across multiple business segments, collaborating with internal teams including product marketing, brand marketing, finance, legal, royalty accounting, consumer products, and franchise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure licensing strategies are fully integrated with product development plans.
  • Conduct regular audits and analyze sales and royalty data to identify financial discrepancies; work cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Develop and evaluate financial models to support licensing proposals and business cases.
  • Lead negotiations for new license agreements, renewals, contract extensions, and amendments.
  • Represent the licensing function in brand team meetings to provide updates on license status, communicate contractual obligations, align on product timelines, and offer strategic solutions or opportunities.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate records of all license agreements and related documentation.
  • Manage special product order requests, Trademark Release Letters, and coordinate with Legal on IP enforcement and infringement matters.
  • Maintain and regularly distribute departmental reports and internal updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support and lead preparation for trade shows, brand presentations, and internal licensing business reviews.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in consumer products and brand licensing; experience in the toy industry is a strong asset.
  • Ability to analyze and draw conclusions from data, communicate, and present actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail; capable of managing multiple projects and licensors simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Solid understanding of product development processes; prior experience in product development is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a focus in Licensing, Business, Marketing, or related discipline is preferred.
